Website Updates and Refresh:
As you can already see, our website has been going through updates to it’s look and navigation. This is to align our website with our 501(c)3 non-profit status. This will be an ongoing process for the next few weeks. This should not affect how haumāna receive/access their class access at the current moment, but it may change in the future. Any major changes will be communicated via BAND.
Current Fundraiser:
We are currently in the middle of our LECHON KAWALI plate sales in partnership with MIDNIGHT MUNCHIES. This one is MANDATORY for all Hālau Members. You should have already received tickets. If not, please make arrangements with Kākoʻo and our Puʻukū (Treasurer) Pilialoha.
Money and Plate Count due by MARCH 29 PRACTICE!
Huakaʻi Iāpana/Japan 20th Anniversary
Plans are already in full swing. If you don’t pay attention to BAND communication you will be left behind.
Iāpana haumāna know all of their mele and are in preparation phase getting ready for formation additions in June.
COSTUME BREAKDOWN and COST have been communicated. Kumu is still adjusting some of the choices to try and bring cost down. This will be continuously updated on BAND
CLASSES:
Classes have been affected by the current weather situation in Hawaiʻi. Please feel free to join any of the classes that are scheduled and not cancelled.
The next Thursday practice is 3/26/26 at the KROC Center. If Sunday (9a-11a) haumāna can make it please do, Sunday will have missed practically this whole month due to weather. THIS DATE IS ACTUALLY A HOLIDAY so if you are off from work and can make it, the class is from 5-6:30pm.
Hopefully the weather improves and we can get back to a regular schedule.
At this moment, ASING PARK SUNDAY practice for this coming Sunday at 1-3p is still scheduled, pay attention to BAND for updates.
Closing:
We look forward to keeping our community updated through these “Newsletter” posts on our website. Please stay safe and healthy!
