Ka Makana Aliʻi Performance
What an incredible performance and turnout for the 2nd CD Release of our Kumu Leato S. Savini. Ka Makana Aliʻi Centerstage was packed from 5p-9p and over a hundred hula dancers took the stage throughout the evening. Major aloha to Kumu Rudy Iona and Hula Hālau O Ku;uwahineuʻiokalani, Kumu Sallie Yoza and Hālau Nāpualaʻikauikaʻiu, and Kumu Nettie Armitage-Lapilio and Hālau Hula O Kekaikuihala for their awesome performances and above all else their ALOHA!
To the Haumāna and ʻOhana of Hālau Nā Mamo O Tulipa, Mahalo nui loa for your support and dedication to Tulipa! You all did well and here is a note from Kumu Leato:
“From the bottom of my heart I sincerely thank and appreciate all the haumāna, ʻohana, and supporters of Hālau Nā Mamo O Tulipa, Tulipa Style LLC, the Savini ʻOhana, and I with the recent CD Release, the shows at Willows and Ka Makana Aliʻi, and everything in between and in the future. It is a ʻOHANA thing and all of you are part of my ʻohana and I LOVE each and everyone of you…yes even on my mean days LOL… I ask for your continued support as we HOLOMUA (Move Forward) into the future TOGETHER… MANY IN BODY, ONE IN MIND!
On another note: PLEASE BE SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR SPRING BREAK, we will be off and classes will resume on March 25.
Also just a heads up we will take off from MAY 27-JUNE 16 for our Summer Break and will resume on June 17. This is for future reference.
And finally, best of luck to Kanekapu (Dyaun Freitas) who will be on leave from Hālau as he takes a job in Alaska until September.
I will see you all upon my return to classes on May 1.
